Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition

Each year Nathan Philips Square is host to over 500 artists from all over Canada and the world at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, one of Toronto Artist Mike Parsons favourite venues. Here are some behind the scenes pictures of how this show comes together. Trucks and vans roll up bright and early as artists & vendors begin the gruelling set up. This year we had the option to unpack on Thursday evening which was incredible. In the past set up takes place at 6 am Friday morning right before the first 10 hour day of the art show. Most of the exhibitors look pretty worn out by show time. Mike's exhibit features a 10 x 20 foot portable gallery installation ideal for presentation and performance oriented public showings. These photos show Mike building a little HEY APATHY! universe in the middle of Toronto's city hall! Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition (T.O.A.E.), Nathan Philips Square Thurs July 9, 2009.
