INK DRAWINGS! CHAPTER ONE The city is a giant Gear Propelled by an endless sea of faceless denizens! These distopian art works were made with a hand-carved bamboo pen & black india ink.The entire series consisted of over 200 paintings, ranging in size from postcard to wall mural and was exhibited at the Ontario College of Art & Design. The symbolic gears and bubble people were  my first images in the ongoing comic book investigation. At the time I developed this style of painting I was living in the suburbs and drew inspiration from books, films, the news, and a few random and terrifying trips to the big city. Since those early days of the experiment I have persisted in my inquires through series of increasingly public artistic processes & performances and currently live in the middle of the big city working as a muralist, artist, and professional atreet performer. With each new public presentation, I have  learned more about the identidy of the city, the people, and myself. I have recently catalgued the first Volume of the series as a 13 chapter online & experimental graphic novel.  I am going to post a bunch of these ink drawings chronologically  over the next couple of days. Each new discovery inspires a new drawing in my never ending quest for a dialogue with the metropolis.
