Canadian Art Gala Performance

Canadian Art at the Passe Muraille! Live painting in the lobby turned cocktail lounge at the Gala fundraiser last night. I was asked to perform and donate my work as park of the theatre's silent auction in order to raise funds for the independent venue. The Passé Muraille features a wide variety of live dance, performance and theatre and is an integral part of Toronto's creative community. The show included a choreographed dance routine followed by a live play and entertained a full house of well dressed art lover's last night. The highlight for me was talking to some of the guests while I painted away. One lady in particular moved me when she congratulated my work and stated "It's the theatre, the arts, and the music, that makes the rest of the world bearable…" I couldn't have said it better myself. The 3 x 3.5 ft. ink on paper work took me just under one hour to complete and raised a modest amount following a tense bidding war between two patrons.
