Monster Comics

Spring is almost here and the streets are filling up with endless Monsters giving me tonnes of subjects for my comics. As the warm weather attracts the crowds we can see all the diverse animalistic qualities we pretend don't exist. Fluttering our wings, and snorting our stouts, the people squish together on the walkways primarily motivated towards caffeine, alcohol and socialization. Cigarettes and garbage pile along the curb and constant jabbering and squawking designates the spaces between street musicians. The park is still damp but the animals are in full stampede. I'll enjoy the sun with the rest of them, but I do not intend to bear witness to the deterioration as the sun goes down.

This 10 x 10 inch pen and ink drawing was made on the bench of a Kensington Market café. The location, situated in the center of the market, is quite amazing people never stop filling at passing the out door seating. On a sunny weekend, like the one which just passed the inspirations and agitations are endless. During the week however ,the corner lays barren and seedy and in most certainly a place to be avoided…
