MONSTER COMICS ROLE MODELS

HEY APATHY! MONSTER COMICS. Inspired by my childhood collection of subliminally motivated merchandise, these alternative comic panels depict two different kinds of heroic models. On the left is the soldier, armed in battle against the evil forces threatening the American way of life. On the right is a group of superheroes and heroines fighting the good fight against injustice world wide… In my toy box I found a lot soldiers, tanks, guns and missiles intended to defend against an evil serpent bent on world domination. Strange that despite the hours I spent arranging and strategizing with the possible artillery and I still don't want to join the army. I also have a huge collection of comics in from my youth (my library) in which heroes battle metaphorical yet much more relevant diabolics. Sure they have to wear tights in stead of camouflage , but the primary battle going down here has always been one of ideologies, communication, and discovering solutions which do not end in annihilation (when a cosmic entity threatens to eat our planet or destroys New York, the significance of resource control and the colour of one's skin become of little concern. more drawings at www.heyapathy-comics-art.com
